Default Aurora Glade HM H/H Help

Tried this mission today. Failed once with idiot PUGs, so I decided to go H/H. I'm SoS, then heroes: SoGM/Resto, Panic/Dom/Resto, Minion Bomber/Prots. Nec and Monk Henchies. I got to the crystal running fine. Did the first part of the bonus without letting Less die and go there. I was trying to follow wiki instructions but they were kinda confusing. I flagged my H/H in front of NW shrine and left my spirit army there too. Started running crystals, then all of a sudden "Mission Failed: White Mantel took Teleporter" or something like that. What happened, and how do I prevent it??

Thanks

I did it like this. Start with a crystal and move to the western shrine, let it be captured and kill them place your crystal.
Move to the central but let them take it with a crystal in your hands(dont aggro), when they move out capture it and take the crystal again use a running skill to capture the eastern. Was over before I knew it.

The order in which you get the teleporters is important.
Your heroes will not stop the mantle from claiming the shrines, they will only wear down the army so you can complete the bonus and then do cap the shrines safely. Your heroes should be strong enough to endure the Mantle for a long time, so you shouldn't have to worry about them being overwhelmed.

IIRC, you ignore the nearest shrine and cap the left one, leaving your army there. Running back to the shrine to cap the farthest one (the right one). You need a running to skill to achieve this before the Mantle cap the left one. Repeat until all the enemy runners are dead.
If you can't guarantee that you'll cap the right one before the Mantle claim the left one, I think you can cap the middle one without the Mantle choosing to claim it, so long as you get the right one soon enough.

I may be wrong. It's been a long time since I did it.

The way I've found to be the easiest is to bring a knockdown/snare for the crystal carrier, You Move Like a Dwarf works great. Then place your team in the path of the crystal carriers.

There are several different ways that work for this mission, especially in NM. What works for me (9 times out of ten) is the following, in NM or HM (found this method either on this guru or on wiki, long time ago now):

Had taken this screenshot to prove to a friend it was possible with H/H, as he was also having trouble with this one.

I flag my heroe's at shrine A (a little more forward than what's shown in the pic).
Grab the 1st crystal, cap shrine B.
Grab the next crystal, run towards, but not yet cap, shrine A.
When the new Mantle runners are just over halfway to shrine B (i.e.just over the center circle you see on the {screen} map), cap shrine A.
Run back and cap B again, rinse and repeat until your H/H have killed all the White Mantle.
Don't forget to kill the Demagogue before capping shrine C

Make sure you have a running skill, of course (or consumables to increase movement speed if not wanting to 'gimp' your own skillbar).
I don't have a shot of the builds I used for the heroes, but I had the 3 Necro heroes so was likely a version of Sabway (this was before Discordway & whatever other "ways" came out afterwards).
Would take Alesia as back up healer (not convinced she actually knows how to heal, but think she's only monk available there ) + whatever other henchie seems useful.

Probably missed a few things, but think that covers the basics. Would also advise searching the Explorer's League forum, there are quite a few entries there about this mission (too tired to post any links at the moment).

For myself, thanks to whoever came up with the above method, made doing that mission much less of a pain.

Don't give up with it, it is doable. Good luck.

Cheers.

ps: Looks like in that one I'd made a couple of runs to the far side shrine C, would only advise doing that if you really need to take the pressure of your heroes a bit more AND you only have one other shrine capped.

Yeh i tried that. But for some reason they managed to cap the most nearest shrine (our druid). so while i was running to the western shrine again (were henchies killed the baddies). the other team suddenly managed to get the eastern one.

now i know i shud always cap the most nearest one just incase.

I believe this is how I've had success with it in HM, too, if Point B is the one closest to the crystal spawner and Point A is down the hill and to the left of there. You let the mantle keep control of Point C (off to the far right of the spawner). I've never tried it without a speed boost -- the mission is so freaking long, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Just flag the heroes and erect spirits at "A", and run crystals between "A" and "B". Just keep an eye on their crystal runners and wait for them to cap first (so long as you control at least one shrine).

Heh. The first time I did this was with a friend. I was the runner while he helped the heroes fight. I was like, "Look how far ahead we are!" and I went ahead and capped the third shrine. He was maaaaaad. To this day, I think I still owe him a do-over to get his bonus.

Take shrine nearest to you . go stand in middle , Mantle take the other 2 shrines then come down the middle to get to the one you capped , kill them all (4 waves I think) then go kill Demagogue for Bonus and then saunter casually back to cap the other 2 shrines .

Or do the pig trick? Probably the easiest way with H+H.

^^ Would be the easiest by far, personally I could never get the little sod to spawn in the right place - unless of course, I didn't have the traversal skill equipped .

This works for me, too, in HM also.

Flag heroes + spirits at the centre. Cap the first while they cap that on the right, then let them cap the left one, go there and wait. When they are coming back, if you didn't cap the left one yet, they will take the centre root, where your h/h stand. If you capped the left one before they came back, they will cap the left one another time, so you have to wait them to engage your heroes, before capping the left one. Remember that you always have to carry a crystal in case something goes wrong, so come back at your druid after capping any shrine.

At this point (your heroes are killing the first group at the centre), it can happen that their runner managed to pass through your heroes (i find it very difficult to make them kill the runner), so run back and cap the first shrine after the runner has capped it.

Then run at the centre again and start flagging your heroes further towards the white mantle place, engaging battle with those that are coming. You should have the left one still capped, so the new runners will try to cap it. Always carry a crystal with you and recap back the left shrine.

If you are gaining position, you are also more far away from your crystal, so it will be harder to recap the left shrine if they do that. So at this point is even more important that you kill the runner before he gets a chance to cap the left shrine. YMLaD works wonderful in this cases, also the spirits can bodyblock the runner a bit.

This is all. When you have killed everyone, the difficult part has ended. Don't forget to kill the demagogue. Just remember to have your shrine (the first one) always blue, and to keep an eye at the left shrine, capping it soon after them. You'll also need to micro manage your heroes, flagging them around, because the white mantle has some AoE damage, which can be nasty in HM. Maybe you should try to do it in NM first to see how does it work. I have been able to do it in HM because i did it plenty of times H/H in NM before.

Hope to have helped

Is that the thing with Necrotic Traversal/Consume Corpse? Or does Oink have a twin?

Yes, you wand a pig on the other side of the vine gate, then Necrotic Traversal/Consume Corpse over. Demagogue will spawn alone for an easy kill. Also, if you have 2+ people, you can steal the mantle's crystal and just hold it, which leaves them unable to cap.

When doing this method, once the crystal runner is dead, is it possible to pick up their crystal rendering them all pretty much useless? Or will they run in with new crystals?

Right, finally got round to doing this. What I did in the end was:
1: Cap first Shrine
2: Stand just on the other side of the round platform in the middle (the teleporter, towards the white mantle spawn side)
3: Kill groups as they came til they stop coming (4 groups iirc)
4: Kill Demagogue
5: ???
6: Profit! Oh, and Legendary Guardian, tyvm
